We start at 8 am and finish at 3-4 pm. We provide coffee,

If
you want to attend you MUST pre-register, either by calling
or emailing with name, address, phone number and payment method.

The
Stripbuilding Workshop is a one-day seminar or clinic where
we explain the construction techniques required when building
a strip built canoe, a strip built kayak, a Rangeley Lake
boat, Adirondack Guideboat, or Whitehall. These are all smooth
hulled strippers that we can provide in kit form or simply
as a pre-kit package. The workshop topics will include making
a strongback, setting up the forms, attaching the sheer strip,
stripping techniques, fairing the hull, fiberglassing techniques,
installing gunwales, decks, seats and varnishing. We will
have a section of hull stripped beforehand. During the Workshop
we will 'fair' the hull, sand it, and apply fiberglass so
that you will be involved in the actual experience of wetting
out the cloth. Bring your camera, either video or still; you
are encouraged to take pictures!
As
a prelude to the Workshop, we suggest that you view our two
instructional videos, "Cedar Strip Boat Building"
and "Applying Epoxy and Fiberglass" before
you attend. That way you will have a good idea of the process
and be better able to ask questions.
You can comment by contacting us at info@newfound.com.
