| The Newfound
Dinghy, designed by Hans Friedel, is a rowing/sailing pram that could
be constructed by kids at camp or a parent and child as a first-time
building project. Built using the stitch-and-glue method with 6mm
marine grade plywood, the dinghy has the added advantage of built-in
flotation with watertight fore and aft compartments. All panels are
pre-cut and pre-drilled ensuring ease of assembly and there are no
long pieces to join due to the short length of the boat.
The wide beam and relatively flat bottom combined
with a slight rocker provide a safe and stable boat for sailors young
and old. This lightweight and maneuverable craft is also an excellent
choice for use as a boat tender.
A variety of simple sail rigs can be configured for
the dinghy and there is sufficient space for "crewmembers" on board. The Newfound Dinghy is an ideal first boat for aspiring
sailors looking for a craft that's easy to handle, both on the beach
and in the water. |

Length 93" | Beam 50" | Weight 83 lbs.
