Building an Osprey at the Maine Boatbuilder's Show
This year (1998) at the Maine Boatbuilder's show we decided to demonstrate building a canoe. Over three days with stripped the boat and got the outer coat of epoxy on. The boat we built is the Osprey, a new design for us from John Winters. The design is a solo touring canoe with some tumblehome for good paddling mechanics.
It was a little tricking trying to get work done when people constantly asked questions at the most "interesting" parts. But, this was our reason for doing it, so people could ask questions and learn more about building strip boats.
